performing inspection See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Information Bus/Testing and
Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/CAN Communication System/How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)
(a) Check DTCs for vehicle stability control system See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC C1435 is not output.
NG -- GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM See: Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions/Vehicle Stability
Control System
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)
(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Codes.
(b) Clear the DTCs See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/Pre-Collision System.
(c) Driver the vehicle.
(d) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
DTC C1A46 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU See: Cruise Control/Cruise Control Module/Service and Repair/Removal
OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION) See: Accessories and Optional
Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Diagrams/Diagnostic Aids/How To Troubleshoot ECU Controlled Systems/How To Proceed
With Troubleshooting
From 08/2009
PRE-COLLISION: PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM: C1A46: Yaw Rate Sensor
C1A46 - Yaw Rate Sensor
DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU receives vehicle stability signals from the yaw rate sensor and sends the signals to the driving support ECU and ECM. If the
skid control ECU detects that the yaw rate sensor is malfunctioning, the skid control ECU sends a malfunction signal to the driving support ECU,
and the driving support ECU stores DTC C1A46. Also, when DTC C1A46 is stored, the skid control ECU stores DTC C1435 at the same time.
