INSPECTION PROCEDURE



NOTICE:



- When "System initializing" is displayed on the multi-display after the battery terminal disconnected, correct the steering angle



neutral point See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Testing and



Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Parking Assist Monitor System/Initialization.



- Depending on the parts that are replaced or operations that are performed during vehicle inspection or maintenance,



calibration of other systems as well as the parking assist monitor system may be needed See: Accessories and Optional



Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Parking



Assist Monitor System/Calibration.



PROCEDURE



1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM



(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.



(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).



(c) Turn the Techstream on.



(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Parking Assist Monitor System / Data List.



(e) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the following items.

Result:



B -- REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist



Systems/Parking Assist Control Module/Service and Repair/Parking Assist ECU/Removal



A -- Continue to next step.



2. SETTINGS (PARKING ASSIST ECU INITIALIZATION)



HINT



- The parking assist ECU stores different types of information during initialization. If the parking assist ECU cannot read the



stored information when it is activated, the parking assist ECU judges that there is an internal malfunction and stores this



DTC.



- If the parking assist ECU cannot read the stored information when it is activated, allowing the ECU to store the information



again may return the system to normal.



(a) Use the transition of diagnosis screens (note which transition pattern occurs) to confirm if the parking assist ECU was able to properly



store the information from initialization See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist



Systems/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Parking Assist Monitor System/Diagnosis System.



HINT



The procedure to make the parking assist ECU store the vehicle information differs when the parking assist ECU has stored the



information (initialized) and when the information has not been stored (not initialized).



(b) Perform the following procedure depending on the memory conditions to register the vehicle information into the parking assist ECU.
