Tip:
Media (CD/DVD/Cassette/SD CARD) retrieval is handled one of two ways:

^ Direct Exchange: Fill out the media retrieval form and send with the radio core to the appropriate remanufacturing center (AJR/United/Bosch).

^ Non Direct Exchange: Fill out the media retrieval form and send radio/nav to the Warranty Parts Return Center. Media will be recovered and
returned to the dealer.
Technical Background
Diagnostic aid to assist with diagnosing various concerns on an audio system CD player:
^ Unable to eject 1 or more CD's
^ Unable to load CD(s)
^ CD error displayed
^ CD Static
^ Unable to play certain CD's

Additional Diagnostic Considerations
CD Static
^ Is the CD that the customer is trying to use scratched?
^ Does the CD perform properly in another CD player?
If the CD has the same static when played in another CD player, then the concern is with the CD. If the CD plays properly in another CD player, the
radio/navigation radio will need to be exchanged.
Unable to play certain CD's
The following should be closely observed when a customer complaint of not being able to play certain CD's is encountered:
^ Is the CD scratched? Check for visual scratches on the CD. Test the CD in another vehicle or household CD player, to duplicate concern.
^ Is the CD a store bought CD, or custom made? Custom made CD's can vary in quality depending on the speed the information was written to the
CD. Store bought CD's are carefully replicated, which is a higher quality than simply etching" the information on a CD.
^ Are CD labels attached properly? Check for peeling, folds, or an uneven surface mating.
What is the format stored? (MP3 capability)
^ To verify, place CD in a computer CD-Rom.
^ Read the contents of the CD.
^ Verify only MP3's are recorded on to CD.

^ RNS2 Navigation radio
^ Premium 6

What is the format stored? (WMA capability)
The following radios support WMA format:
^ RNS 510
^ RNS 315
^ RCD 510
^ RCD 310
^ RNS 850
WMA support only applies to files that do not have copyright protection.
Tip:
A CD with both data & audio media stored on it WILL NOT operate properly.
