B2779 - Engine Starter Communication Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when the ID for the remote engine starter is not registered or the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) does not respond,
even though the remote engine starter system (Toyota supplied part) has been operated to start the engine

NOTICE:
If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register the key See: Accessories and Optional
Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Engine Immobilizer System.

Before performing the inspection, check that DTC U1420 (CAN communication system) is not output See: Powertrain

1. RE-REGISTER REMOTE ENGINE STARTER SYSTEM
(a) Re-register the remote engine starter system See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Engine Immobilizer System.
