Readiness.
- Input the DTC: P0455 or P0456.
- Check the DTC judgment result [B].
HINT
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
- If the test result is UNKNOWN, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes / Pending.
- Read Pending DTCs.
HINT
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If the test result is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs
See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/DTC
Check / Clear.
HINT
- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
MONITOR RESULT
Refer to Checking Monitor Status See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Mode 6 Data.
Up to 08/2009
CRUISE CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction
P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The cruise control system uses the same vehicle speed signal that is sent to the ECM for the SFI system. If DTC P0500 is detected, perform the
diagnosis using the inspection procedure for DTC P0500 in the SFI system (for 2GR-FE) See: P0500. The speed signal is converted for use by the
cruise control inside the ECM. Both the SFI system and the cruise control system can set DTC P0500, however, the detection conditions of the two
systems are different.
