If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register the key See: Accessories and Optional
Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Engine Immobilizer System.

Before performing the inspection, check that DTC U1420 (CAN communication system) is not output See: Powertrain

PROCEDURE
1. RE-REGISTER REMOTE ENGINE STARTER SYSTEM
(a) Re-register the remote engine starter system See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Engine Immobilizer System.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK ENGINE START (REMOTE ENGINE START FUNCTION)
(a) Check that the engine starts using the remote engine start function.
OK:
Engine starts using remote engine start function.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
OK -- END (REMOTE ENGINE STARTER ID WAS NOT REGISTERED CORRECTLY)
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
(a) Disconnect the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(b) Disconnect the junction connector.
