The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly LH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure



to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.



PROCEDURE



1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH



(a) Disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.



(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.



Standard Resistance:



(c) Reconnect the front seat belt assembly LH connector.



NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat



Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly/Removal



OK -- Continue to next step.



2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)



(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.



CAUTION:



Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.



(b) Disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.



(c) Disconnect the seat belt control ECU connector.



(d) Using a service wire, connect MOL+ and MOL- of the connector on the front seat outer belt assembly LH.



NOTICE:



Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.



(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
