INSPECTION PROCEDURE

This circuit uses CAN communication. Therefore, be sure to check that the CAN communication system is normal before
performing inspection See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Information Bus/Testing and
Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/CAN Communication System/How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Clear the DTCs See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/Pre-Collision System.
(b) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
CAN communication system DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Information
Bus/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/CAN Communication System/How to Proceed With
Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIR BAG SYSTEM)
(a) Check DTCs for the air bag system See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Air Bag Systems/Testing and Inspection/Reading and
Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
Airbag system DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO AIR BAG SYSTEM See: Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions/Airbag System
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check DTC for the occupant classification system See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Testing and Inspection/Reading and Clearing
Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B1771 is not output.
